Help Big Brothers Big Sisters Grow a Match

A Big Brothers Big Sisters Success Story
Julie has grown in confidence, competence and caring in three years of being matched with Big
Sister Jane! Jane and Julie do a lot of fun things together, and also talk about important things
like school and Julie’s dreams for the future. Since being matched, Julie has grown in self-
confidence and improved her grades in school—now mostly As, with a few Bs and only one C!
Today, Julie will tell you that she loves school and playing her flute in the band. She dreams of
becoming a veterinarian and, with Jane’s help, has come to understand how important her grades
are for her future. Jane recently observed that “Julie is putting in a lot of work on her own. She
likes to participate in class; and her teachers really like her.” Julie always tries to help out other
people, and her caring attitude about others was recently recognized with a “good school
citizenship” award.
